Among the many families served by the Cape Cod Foster Closet are the thousands of grandparents on the Cape and Islands who are raising their grandchildren. So we were especially excited to meet State Senator Julian Cyr at the Sharing Kindness 2023 Suicide Awareness Walk Sat., May 20th at Veterans Park Beach in Hyannis.

As an active member of the Mass. State Commission on the Status of Grandparents Raising Grandchildren, Sen. Cyr has a unique appreciation of the challenges that grandparents face when they take on the role of parenting their grandkids. “They need our help,” said Cyr, “and we need to do everything we can to support them.”
